Khanna to Satluj Park Consturcted by the Municipal Committee of Nangal
On 2-6-2009 at about 7.40 PM I
visited Satluj Park constructed by the Municipal
Committee of Nangal. It is constructed in about 5
acres of land. The persons present there namely Sarvshri
Vishwa Nath, Ashish, Baljit, Jagbir, Rajiv Ashish
Bhatti, have reported that there is no drinking water
facility in the park. There is no bath- room or toilet constructed therein.
Only 30% lights were
functioning which were
installed in the park for its
beautification.
There
is no proper sitting arrangement for the visitors. The bridge situated on a
part of the lake was not safe. The boating facility was there, but the lake was
full of silt. The boats lying in the park were filled up with water and were
damaging day-by-day. The dirty water was discharging in the lake and from 50
meters away where the dirty water was discharging, the pump was fitted to lift
the water for drinking purposes. Only one employee was there for the
maintenance of the park.
The
canteen was lying closed .
The
park was not neat and clean. The source of income has not been explored by the
Municipal Committee to increase its income.
Recommendations
(i ) The proper
sitting arrangements be made for the
visitors
(ii ) The damaged
benches are required to be repaired.
(iii)
The
proper drinking water facility and toilet facility be provided in the park.
(iv)
The
silt be taken put from the lake to make this lake
beautiful and the boating facility for which this park was constructed be
provided.
(v)
The
discharge of dirty water in the lake be stopped and if
it is not possible, then a proper treatment plant be installed for the
discharge of treated water in the lake.
(vi)
The
bridge, which is situated on a part of the lake, be made safe.
(vii)
Proper
lights be arranged in the park.
(viii) Zim facility be
also provided in the park.
(ix)
Proper
staff be recruited for the maintenance of the park as well as for the repair of
the park.
This report be treated as a complaint.
